As a society we have created a system where every action needs to be productive. Even meditation or resting have a purpose of regaining energy for being productive again.
Our philosophy is a weapon against the obsession with productivity.
This is not an act of boredom
This is not an act of laziness
This is not relaxation
This is not procrastination
Rather, this is a conscious act of non-action; a rejection of our collective obsession with constant productivity.
In the era of the Anthropocene where every human action has a greater and unforseeable impact, can any human action be sustainable? Could non-action be an alternative?
We’re offering relief from the guilt of being human in a complex and destructive system. This relief comes in the form of a modern ritual that can be adapted to any context.
It has to be repetitve.
It has to be neutral, not too pleasant nor unpleasant.
It is a redirection of productive energy into useless activity.
It has to be a conscious unproductive action.

Embrace the unproductive act.
Blinded by the idea of endless growth, we keep seeking new ways of doing things more productively. Yet the planet that we all inhabit is finite, and denying its ecological limits doesn't make them disappear. This manifesto is an exploration of a paradigm shift, and acceptation that under certain circumstances, non-action is better than destructive action. "Withdraw not with cynicism, but with a questing mind. .... Withdraw because action is not always more effective than inaction. Withdraw to examine your worldview: the cosmology, the paradigm, the assumptions, the direction of travel. All real change starts with withdrawal."
